VCSEL modules

VCSEL modules incorporate three technological advances:

  • High output performance

  • compact size

  • Wavelength stability at variable temperatures

diodes

2. Adopting MLA installation technology, compact size

The VCSEL module uses a VCSEL array with many light-emitting channels on the surface, and a microlens array (MLA) that integrates the lenses corresponding to each light-emitting channel on a single chip. As a result, a VCSEL module is more compact because it has fewer components than a traditional edge-emitting laser module.

2. Wavelength stability at different temperatures

Due to their structure, VCSELs have excellent wavelength stability across temperatures, with approximately ten times the thermal stability of conventional edge-emitting lasers. In solid-state laser excitation used in applications such as laser crystals for laser spark plug heads, the wavelength stability of the excitation light is critical to achieving stable output. Due to the wavelength stability described above, a precision temperature control unit is not required, allowing for a significant reduction in VCSEL module size.

The VCSEL laser module can be used in laser processing, laser demonstration, laser medicine, and other applications. This module includes a laser gain chip, an optical lens, a frequency conversion lens, and many sets of lens devices.
